Now That's What I Call Music

No data signal yesterday so two days to report on and lots of banging tunes:

What a Difference A Day Makes

So: after Sunday's ordeal in the sandpit we really needed a better day and by golly we got one.  We were up and out super early (see Time below) and had a lovely cruise along the coast before joining the A1 for a very rapid middle section.   It is a superb road with light traffic, smooth surface and a 6 ft shoulder.  It isn't the most scenic riding but it beats the crap out of sand.

For the end of the day we cruised back to the coast and spent the night in a cabin a stone's throw from the ocean.  We even had a quick dip in the Specific but have subsequently been regailed with tales of local shark attacks so probably won't do that again!

We knocked up tuna pasta for tea and had a relaxing evening on the porch shooting the breeze.

Karma Chamelion

We had a lizzard living under our porch.  Apparently it is just a baby.  It's dad pulled over our neighbour's bbq.  This is a crazy country!

Time

It has been getting so hot in the afternoons (110 degrees f today is 40 in Roman Catholic and chuffing hot in any religion) that we need to find a way of minimising time in the sun.  The obvious solution would be to get up early but the problem is that it involves getting up early.  After much discussion we came up with a brilliant solution...we have invented our own time zone.

We are now operating under Bike Adventures Standard Time (Adjusted for Real Daylight).  BASTARD time is 2 hours ahead of Ozzie time which means we get up at normal time but hit the road at dawn.

Theme tune for Geordie Shores

For the record, I am only dimly aware of this programme and have no idea what the theme tune is!  We left our cabin at 8:30 BASTARD Time and did a difficult 85 miles.  Not much more to say really!  We are staying in Newcastle, just one day from Sydney.  We have done over 550 miles and we are magnificant!

Light My Fire

This is a hot dry country and, not suprisingly, there are many boards dislaying the current fire risk.  It is  6 point scale and today was a mere 2.......which stands for HIGH.  A 6 means CATASTROPHIC........or 'currently on fire' I would imagine.
