Working 9 till 5

It seems like a blog every other day is all I can manage.  The big downside of running this as a commercial trip is that there always seems to something to do: setting and clearing away breakfast, shopping, bike mending  etc etc.

Bonus tracks:

Right Back Where We Started From

Yesterday we rode from Dillon to Ennis - 67 miles climbing gradually to a pass then downhill into town.  John set off in the support van a while after we left Dillon and 45 minutes later found himself.......back in Dillon.  A sat-nav problem.....or so he says!!!

The high spot of the day was the two gold mining towns at the start of the pass - Nevada City and Virginia City.  They have been presereved and are crawling with tourists but still pretty cool.

Blowin' In The Wind

Today should have been a manageable 72 miles with gentle climbing all day but we picked up a big old headwind that turned it into a bit of an ordeal.  We are in fly fishing country.....apparently the best in the US and we saw many fly fisherman along the way.  The grand finale to a bugger of a day was a 15 mile stretch of roadworks, ending with several miles of fresh tar and chippings.   Bugger.

We are now in West Yellowstone, one of the gateways to the park.  It is exactly as I expected  - rammed with tourists and prices to match.  If I don't see a bear tomorrow there is going to be trouble.
