Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting
Today was a bit a non-descript. 78 miles with a fair few hills, spent mostly on the A1. The weather is still very pleasant but no longer stupidly hot so we are no longer on BASTARD time. We set out at around 7:30 and were all done by 3:30.
We are staying in the Marlin 'hotel' in Uladulla. It is a big pub with rooms and we have found these to be a good choice in the past. The Marlin's bar is full of pissed-up Ozzies, most of whom look like they have been drinking since breakfast. At the moment they seem happy but we wonder how the evening might develop. When we checked in the owner twice mentioned that it would be noisy tonight and seemed suprised that we still wanted the room.
Tomorrow we have another treat - a short day followed by an afternoon/evening with the 'two Tonies'. They were part of a threesome who have done a number of trips with me but, very sadly, Rob passed away on our Gibralter trip last year. We will be staying with the two Tonies at Rob's coastal house. This was all arranged when Rob was still alive so it will be a poignent evening!
